Fair Exhibits

As earnest fair goers know, a central part of any regional fair is the many exhibits entered by residents within the fair's region. Sanders County Fair accepts entries from Sanders, Flathead, Lake, Lincoln, Mineral, and Missoula counties (Montana). As of the 2002 fair season, Sanders County can boast somewhere between 3,500 and 4,000 entries in Open Class alone. Young people earning blue ribbons in the 4-H division are permitted to enter their projects in open class.

Due to the large number of entries, Sanders County now requires that all entries be pre-registered. An entry form (in Adobeâ format) is provided on this site for the convenience of fair exhibitors. Pre-registration closes at 4:00 PM the Wednesday preceding the week of the fair (August 22, 2007). Exhibitors must check the Department Rules for each department for the correct deadlines for each department. Department Rules can be found in the Premium book or Department summaries indicated below.  All documents are in Adobe format.

The Sanders County Fair also uses a system of Categories in order to insure that exhibits are judged in comparison to entries within similar age groups or skill. It is very important that exhibitors clearly indicate the appropriate category on their entry forms and as described within each Department in the Fair Premium Book. Age is determined as of the final day of registration for each fair year. They include:

A - Adult; persons aged 19 to 69
S - Senior; persons 70 and over
P - Professional; persons who produce the items with the intent to sell
Y - Youth; persons aged 11 to 18
C - Child; persons 10 and under; a guardian or parent must sign the entry form.
